The process of learning Spanish

If you have decided to learn and acquire the Spanish language, chances are one major reason you chose it over French or German, for example, was because you knew you would use it someday. You are probably right. As well as in Spain, the Spanish language is spoken throughout Latin America and in some African countries too. You can also find Spanish speakers in much of the United States and as far as the Philippines!

Our Spanish Resources section is about the Spanish language, its vocabulary (most common words and phrases, including slang terms), grammar (noun, pronoun, adjective, verb, articles, conjugations, etc.) and dictionaries online. It is a basic survival guide that will help you once you set foot in the city of our school, the beautiful Salamanca.

You will find out that learning Spanish is not as hard as it first seems. Once you familiarize yourself with the characteristics of this language, you are now ready to learn the basics. This is the primary aim of this section: to prepare you so that learning Spanish will run as smoothly as possible.

Knowing the basics of the Spanish vocabulary and grammar well ahead of time will help you communicate more successfully once you are here in Salamanca, or other Spanish-speaking cities for that matter. This is considering that many people whose first language is Spanish have a hard time expressing themselves in English.

Whether introducing yourself, complimenting someone, ordering food at an eatery, asking someone for directions, giving a cab driver an address, making hotel reservations, your learning experience in Salamanca will be less tiring and more fun when you know the Spanish culture and have basic knowledge of the language well ahead of time.
