Cultural activity program in Spain

Spanish isn’t only in class but also in your free time! For this reason we’ve carefully programmed a wide and varied selection of socio-cultural activties, in the majority of cases free, which can be found in our monthly publication La Voz de Mester

Guided visit

The guided visit takes place on the first day of class and gives the student the opportunity to get to know the monuments and places of interest of their new city. Furthermore, every Friday we offer more specialised visits. Accompanied by a teacher, the student will get to know the history, the artistic details and the secrets of the most significant monuments of the city.

Films

The most up-to-date language is reflected in the cinematic productions of the moment. Seeing films in Spanish is a good way to learn new vocabularly and improve oral expression. For this reason, from Monday to Thursday we put on Spanish films, or films dubbed into Spanish, which also have subtitles in our language to aid understanding.

Conferences

From the origins of our culture to the modern day, in our annual cycle of conferences we analyse all the aspects of the cultural and social life of Spain. On Mondays and Tuesdays we offer history and art conferences, on Wednesdays we have a conference of literature and on Thursdays we deal with culture. This activity is one of the key points in our programme.

Sports
Every month we organise sporting competitions between the students of Tennis, basketball, swimming, etc, which allow the students to practise their favourite sport. The Mester Academy makes it easy to keep these sports up whilst away from home. On occasions, we organise excursions to Champions League football games.

Excursions
Travelling through Spain with Mester, visiting the cities and discovering the great geographic contrasts will become the protagonist in the students unforgettable trip to Spain. Each weekend we give students a chance to visit the magical cities of Spain, bursting with culture and truely unforgettable.

Tapas tour

One of the most Spanish customs, which helps students to get to know each other and the teachers, making friends for life. Every Tuesday we go to a selection of bars where, together with a drink, we eat a local dish. This activity gives the students the chance to know the gastronomic culture of the country.

Cookery class
Every week we offer cookery classes in which we teach the students how to prepare some of the most delicious and typical tapas of our country.

Concerts

Occasionally we organise, either in our centre of in a bar, classical music, traditional Spanish music, pop or other types of concerts.
We also organise for students to see international concerts of all styles that take place in the cities we have schools. Furthermore, we give weekly Spanish guitar classes.

Dance class

Every week we offer sevillanas classes and in the Salamanca school, we also have salsa classes on offer.
Horse riding

The first or second Friday of each month we offer the possibility of visiting a farm near Salamanca to visit where the bulls are kept and to go horse riding. In the Summer we also take advantage of the good weather by going for a swim in an outdoor swimming pool near to the farm.
