Organizing a trip to Spain with your pupils will make you more prestigious, make your teaching more prestigious and your academic staff too. The reason is this; more so than just offering a teaching programme abroad, your pupils will most probably progress in the language more during their stay than during the entire school year in their own country.

This is only possible in the situation where the language is spoken, so that your pupils will be in direct contact with Spanish 24 hours a day.

What's more, you can take a course specifically for teachers whilst the pupils are in class and, afterwards, participate with them in the programme of activities that we offer.

Mester has at your disposal a team of teachers and non-academic staff with ample experience who are committed to ensuring that your programme in Spain is the most productive and enjoyable as possible.

On the other hand, the large number of cheap flights from numerous European airports to Spain makes it possible for this trip to be accessible for all types of budgets, from 400 Euros flight included.

Classes

Our standard course is comprised of 20 classes a week. Normally the classes are in the morning from Monday to Friday, with 4 lessons a day.

However, if you decide to shorten the programme with fewer days stay (above all with trips of one week), we can have more classes daily spread across fewer days. It is also possible for your group to fly on a weekday, which would mean losing classes. These can be recuperated following the same criteria.

Of course, if you, or your staff, prefer to orientate the focus of the content of the classes towards conversation or focusing on more specific material (preparation for DELE, history, art, literature, culture, business Spanish, Spanish for tourism...) it is also possible.

Equally, if you want your students to obtain the most benefit from their stay, it's possible to increase the number of lessons (see for example the Intensive Program).

On the other hand, most of the teachers that visit us prefer, as far as is possible, that their pupils are immersed in classes with our other students. This way they will have the opportunity to get to know students from other countries and they can make friends with people from many different cultures to their own. If you prefer however, we won't mix the groups.

Finally, on finishing the course we always hand out an Attendance Certificate. To obtain this it is necessary to attend 90% of the classes. If you also require that your students sit an exam that qualifies their acquired knowledge please let us know.

Accommodation

The most popular type of accommodation is traditionally a Spanish HOME STAY. It is necessary to warn the students that the way of life, especially the food, is very different to what they are accustomed to. It is also important to point out that they must respect the rules of the house with reference to timetables, uses and behaviour with members of the family, with other students who may be staying there with them and with the other neighbours in the building.

The families are, in Granada and Salamanca, a maximum of 20 minutes walk from the school. In Seville they can be 30 minutes away.

Another possibility, more in demand in the last few years, is a RESIDENCE. This option is only available in the summer months (from June to September) in Granada and Seville, and in Salamanca all year round, out of summer time there are a limited number of places (40).

For students 18 years and over there are two other possibilities: a student FLAT or a private APARTMENT. In both cases the students will stay alone, under your responsibility. They will have to prepare their own food and respect tidiness and order. The difference between the two types of accommodation is that the flats normally have between three and four bedrooms and the apartments only have one. The flats are available above all in summer, the apartments all year.

ACTIVITIES

Mester offers to all its pupils a programme of activities similar to those found in all of their schools. Apart from this each city has its own special activities.

Your group can follow the normal programme or we can prepare one in accordance with your preferences.
