Advanced Program for Teachers of Spanish as a Foreing Language (SUPE)

This is a program of 20 hours per week, from 1 to 4 weeks.

Our teacher training programs are designed to help non-native teachers of Spanish, regardless of the number of years experience they have. The course is structured to help them to reach a higher level of fluency and to refresh their knowledge of the language. This program includes both theoretical components, in which the methodology of teaching Spanish is considered, and practical components, such as everyday Spanish and demonstrations of how to present language in the most effective way.

In the first lesson grammatical structures are reviewed while, at the same time, the different teaching methods used to teach these structures are analysed.

In the second lesson of the day the concept of both teaching and learning Spanish as a foreign language is examined.The application of teaching methods to practical communication, proposed alternative methodologies, the fundaments of the language-learning experience and the integration of classic language-learning skills into the classroom environment are all dealt with.

The third and fourth lessons of the program each day concentrate on practical aspects of language teaching using workshops.These workshops deal with communication techniques and activities, the integration of cultural concepts and knowledge into the learning process, the creation of "personal teaching materials", techniques for using language laboratories, new technologies in language teaching/learning, specialist teaching of Spanish, the Internet and more.
